Condensation dripping from coil onto air handler through ductwork into garage Contacted Carrier to verify that this particular unit will work in a downflow. They informed me it would. The downflow kit was properly installed on the coil of the air handler. This is a2 1/2 ton system. It requires around 1000 CFM to work properly. I performed a static pressure test and verified that the system is .42 wc. We looked in the installation manual and found that at that pressure and where the blower was set. It was only 780 CFM. We just did the blower motor and brought it up to 985 CFM. By doing this, the system will have more air blowing across the coil Which will make the coil not as cold and hopefully not condensing as much water to prevent it from dripping off. At 780 CFM, the coil would be much colder condensing, more water, allowing it to drip. I’m not sure if making this adjustment actually fixed anything I would be surprised if it did. I would leave the fan in the on position until all t

Thermostat reading 77°. Return 2 feet under thermostat reading 72°. Place my thermometer on thermostat thermostat reading 74°. Was informed that outdoor unit was running yesterday and blower was not running. More than likely caused the coil to ice up, then causing condensation all over the outside of the unit. While the unit first started up blower came on ran for about four minutes, cycled off and then started back up about a minute later. This should continuously run and not shut off. Tested relay and power from thermostat. Blower motor is getting 24 V to to turn on the blower motor yet it shut off. Blower motor also has 240 V. Blower motor should be replaced. Or ordering a new blower motor we should be back out Wednesday after 3 o’clock
Couldn’t find anything wrong check caps pump and wiring. Also checked refrigerant 84/274. Sh49 sc 1 Added 5 pounds of refrigerant. Will come back out in the spring time and do a tuneup and check the refrigerant levels to make sure that there’s no leak as we’ve never worked on this system and we’re not sure if it was charged properly. 122/318 sh20 sc15. Thermostat alerted that emergency drain panel is full of water. Check the SS to no signs of water in it check the condensate pump had about a quarter inch of water in it. Everything is working fine. If this happens again, we should change the SS to a reprogram the module so it doesn’t say that they come and say is full. Previous calls and installs I’ve had issues with both.
Found system drain had a clog in it as well as cleaned indoor filters - removed clog - everything should work normally again.
